My nephew, Nathan, is quite the athlete. Tom keeps busy running him from football to soccer to basketball to ice skating to baseball...

And here he is skiing - at Snow Trails this time.

John Carney skiied down the hill with Nathan between his skis. He says he's getting too old for that stuff.

Brother Tom sent a couple of shots of Nathan skating.

Thinks he's pretty hot stuff.

Brother Tom sent a couple of shots of Nathan fishing yesterday. He saw the pics of Allyson and Audrey trick or treatin' and wanted to share these with everyone.

Last night was Beggars night at Nephew Casey and Ann's...

Allyson went as a Pumpkin and Audrey was a Pink Poodle.

Fun was had by all...

Three girls from the 5 universities in Philadelphia were asked to cheer with the Phillie Phanatic during the 7th inning stretch at Game 4 of the World Series. Mary's daughter, Meghan, is in the middle with all the big hair.

She also was able to go to Game 5 with her boyfriend and his dad -- they stayed until the delay. Unfortunately they were not able to go back for the win because Dan had an exam on Wednesday night.

John P has decided he's had enough of split shifts and short hours; he needs a real income. He left the Olive Garden and is training for CallTech support with Verizon Fiberoptic. He will provide phone support for folks with CATV/Phone/Internet service.
Heather is still working for the Parks Department in the City of Bowling Green. This past week one of her jobs was preparing jack-o-lanterns for a Halloween Hike through a wooded park.

The face on the right is a likeness of Chris, one of her bosses. The two smaller carvings in the front (one unlit) are rutabagas. The original jack-o-lanterns were root vegetables - turnips, rutabagas and such. Pumpkins were adopted on migration to the western hemisphere. Look up the 'Legend of Wicked John (and the Devil)' if interested.

She did a wolf and sent along pictures of that, as well. Speaking of pumpkins, she signed up with the Italian Grayhound Association to foster rescued dogs. So I've added a picture of her new ward, 'Pumpkin'. Her current IG's, Tahki and Chinu, seem to be getting along okay with the newest member of the pack.

Brother James took a few days off the daily grind and built a boat. Turned out pretty good.

He christened it the 'Mary Frances' - named after mom. 'tis a fine looking craft; she would be proud.

After almost two years, John P. left his job as Assistant Manager at Wolfgang Puck's Express on Lane Avenue. He's started as a server at the Olive Garden on Sawmill. There appears to be more opportunity for him there. Dad's going to be eating a lot of salad...

Nathan on the drums - Charles' drums - at Heather's 'graduation party' in August - 8/16/2008.

Nathan at the Grove City Longhorn after the OSU/Youngstown game- 9/2/2008.
Since they could walk my kids have been skiing with Michael Dittiacur. I've known his dad and mother, Dennis and Martha, for about thirty years now. Our families have shared many adventures; trips skiing here in the U.S. and Europe, visits to Disney World and Sea World, excursions to Daytona Beach.
It was with some excitement that I read the article in the Dayton Daily News announcing one of Mike's films is selected to screen at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival. I knew he was good at his profession, but there is a world of difference between 'good' and this. You can see the short film "Held in Sway" for yourself at YouTube.
I replaced the dead webcam (Internet Camera) with two new ones; links are to the left. Heidi and I get to meet the old gang for lunch about every week. This is a photo Bill Miller took on February 8th in front of Tommy's Pizza. That's me in the chair with John Chapman, Fred Crowner, Heidi, Kal Dworkin and John Carney. Wish Bill were in the picture, too. What a group!
